Sunday

On Sunday we worked. Grumps built a new step for the front door and Aimee and Jessica helped him to take the wood off the truck.

Aimee did some hammering and painting.

Nana prepared the room for Kenza, the student from France who will be arriving on Wednesday.

Aimee and Jessica helped Nana by taking their books and toys and quilts out of that room and into the bunk room where they are sleeping for the rest of their stay. Jessica helped Nana make the bunk beds.

  1. Wow, you guys did lots of great work! I bet Nana and Grumps enjoyed having you help them.
Did you get to do some more hammering yesterday Aimee?

We have had a very nice relaxing day today - we went out this morning and bought a new suitcase to fit in the extra stuff we have bought to bring home. Then we caught a bus to a place called Oxford. There are lots of very old buildings here - we are going to stay here with some friends for two nights. We might go for a walk tonight to a pub for a drink after dinner.

Do you girls remember the book about the wardrobe and Narnia and the lion? Today we went to the pub where the man who wrote that story used to go all the time when he was still alive - it was real cool.

I love you both very much and can't wait to see you next week.

    love mummy

  2. Hi Aimee and Jessica,
Sorry it took me so long to write to you. I needed to go and have a sit down yesterday so I didn't stay with Mummy while she wrote to you.

We had a lovely day with my friend. His name is Carl and we went to University (which is like a school for grown ups) together years and years ago. He showed us someof the things to see when you are in London. We saw the palace where the Queen lives and a castle and someother lovely places. We also wentto a market (Camden Markets) which Mummy really loved. I got a little sunburnt which quite surprised me. Luckily it was only a little bit :) and I will be OK.
Today we came to Oxford to visit some more friends of Mine and Mummy's. Richard and Sarah and their son Joel. It's funny because she has the same name as mummy :) If I say "hello sarah" then two people look at me :)

Tomorrow we have to go and look for a new suitase to replace the new suitcase we boughtyesterday. It got a bit broken during the bus ride to Oxford and we are not sure it will survive the plane rideback home. So we are getting a new one. That will help us to carry your presents with us all the way home. We are going to look for another present for you when we arelooking for the suitcase. I think that that means you might get more than just 3 presents but that's OK isn't it?

I love you two lots and lots and every day and every night. I am really looking forward to coming home and seeing you two again. I think it is almost time to come home. We are only going to be here another few days and then fly home. That will be good eh?

    See you soon..

    love Daddy
